Kutch Bahar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday criticized the opposition alliance ‘India’ for spreading false rumors about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and said it was Modi’s guarantee to give citizenship to those who believe in ‘Maa Bharati’.
Addressing a massive rally at the Ras Mela grounds in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, Modi hit out at opposition parties for their efforts to protect corrupt people and expressed his commitment to ensure their punishment, saying tougher measures would be taken in the next five. Years will be processed.
Referring to the recent incidents in Sandashkhali, Modi assured that the culprits will have to spend the rest of their lives in jail. Allegations of sexual exploitation have surfaced against Trinamool Congress leaders in Sandashkhali.
Modi said, “They (Indian alliance) never cared for marginalized communities. Now that we have brought CAA they are spreading rumors and lies. Modi’s promise to give citizenship to those who believe in maa Bharati.
His comments come amid claims by opposition parties, including the Trinamool Congress, that applying for the CAA would turn legal citizens into foreigners.
The CAA rules were notified on March 13. According to this, the government will now start granting Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim immigrants – Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis and Christians from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, who arrived in India before December 31, 2014.
Targeting the opposition alliance, Modi said, “The opposition alliance is engaged in the politics of lies and deception.”
He said, “I say remove corruption. The opposition says save the corrupt. I will ensure that the corrupt are punished and the poor get justice. Tougher action will be taken against the corrupt in the next five years.
Addressing the opposition camp, Modi said that in six of the seven decades after independence, the country had seen only the Congress government model.
He said, “For the last 10 years the country has seen the BJP government. The development you have seen is just a trailer, I have a lot more to do for the country. We have to take the country forward.
Responding to the opposition alliance’s remarks about his family, Modi said 140 million Indians are ‘my family’.
According to him, “The opposition says that Modi does not have his own family, but the fact is that the whole country is my family. The whole country is ‘Modi’s family.’
Referring to the recent Sandeshkhali incidents, Modi criticized the state government for its apparent indifference towards the victims.
Modi said that for the development of Bengal, it is imperative that the BJP wins from here to stop the atrocities against women.
He said, “Only BJP can put an end to atrocities on women in Bengal. The whole country has seen how TMC fought tooth and nail to save the culprits of the Sandeshkali incident. What happened to the women of Sandeshkali is a result of TMC’s misgovernance.”
He said BJP’s focus is on women empowerment.
He said, “BJP has pledged to punish the culprits. Sandeshkhali’s culprits will have to spend their lives in jail.
In an indirect attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Modi thanked her and the state government for not creating any hindrance in organizing the rally here.
He said, “I want to express my gratitude to Mamata Didi. In 2019, when I came to the same ground to address the rally, they built a platform in the middle of the ground to make it smaller. So I said the public will answer that. It answered in the elections.
BJP won Cooch Behar Lok Sabha seat in 2019.
He said, “Today he did no such thing and I got the opportunity to meet all of you. I express my gratitude to the Bengal government that they did not create any hurdle.
The Prime Minister said that the world accepts him as a strong leader who can take tough decisions.
