A missing suspected asylum seeker has been found in Western Australia after an extensive two-day search.
The man was reported missing across the Mitchell Plateau on Friday after a pack of 15 men, believed to be of Chinese origin, arrived in the Kimberley and wandered to the Truscott base.
The airbase is in a remote part of the Kimberley.
A missing man has sparked a joint operation with WA Police and Border Force, who today located the man standing on a rail near Truscott Base.
“It has been confirmed that the man was part of a group that arrived in Australia via an unknown vessel,” the police said.
“It is not known how or why the man separated from his group, but it was found that he is in relatively good condition.”
The man is currently receiving medical treatment from a doctor at the Truscott base.
Drones are also looking for the boat in which the arriving group was discovered, which is the third boat since November to arrive on the Australian mainland without being detected.
9News understands some of the men have been flown to Darwin, with the rest expected to arrive later today.
