PM directs to ensure logistics and security from Rekodik to Gwadar port – Pakistan Achi-News

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that all the stakeholders should be consulted at the official level regarding the Rekodic project and wherever there are obstacles in it, they should be removed.

In order to take full advantage of minerals in Balochistan, a plan will be made with reference to Mosulat’s infrastructure, while the Prime Minister has called for a detailed briefing on Rekodic road and rail connectivity next week.

According to the press release issued by the media wing of the Prime Minister’s Office, an important meeting was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

A Barrack Gold Company delegation led by CEO Mark Bristow participated in the meeting via video link.

Speaking to the participants of the meeting, the Prime Minister said that security will be ensured for those working on the Rekodic project and logistics and transport from Rekodic to the port.

He said that all the stakeholders will be consulted at an official level regarding the project and wherever there are obstacles, they will be removed.

He said that in order to take full advantage of the minerals in Balochistan, plans will be made regarding the communication infrastructure, especially the railway.

Shahbaz Sharif directed that the existing road network should be upgraded as soon as possible to connect the Recodek project with Gwadar by road.

He further said that the process of their completion should be accelerated wherever new roads were constructed.

The Prime Minister also directed that a strategy should be drawn up regarding the feasibility of a rail network from Rekodik to Gwadar port.

He said that the access to the port from Rekodik to Gwadar railway project will be easy and in less time and the distance will be much less than Bin Qasim Port.

He further said that the mineral rich area of ​​Chagai will benefit from the new railway and the mining industry will get a boost.

Shahbaz Sharif also asked to remove all obstacles at the official level to complete the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment regarding the Rekodic project as soon as possible.

The meeting was informed that the feasibility of the Rekodic project will be completed by December 2024.

The meeting was further informed that 6,000 containers will go to Bandar Gah every month from Rekodak.

The meeting was told that the project’s concentrate pipeline will be the second longest slurry pipeline in the world. The meeting was informed that the link road from Rekodik to National Highway 40 will be built by the Mining Company. Moreover, the construction of a 103 km road from Nokundi to Mashkhel to connect Rekodik to Gwadar has been completed up to 58%.

The First Minister called for a detailed briefing next week on Rekodic Road and Rail Connectivity.

Federal Finance and Revenue Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Petroleum Minister Mossadegh Malik, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Muhammad Jahanzeb and relevant senior government officials also participated in the meeting.
