District and police administrations are busy preparing for security in the Lok Sabha elections. Prisons are also monitored in this regard. Vigilance has been increased on the criminals who are imprisoned so that they do not cause any disturbance in the elections. On Friday evening, a raid was conducted at Medininagar Central Jail led by Deputy Commissioner with District Magistrate Shashi Ranjan. This is the second raid by the administration inside the prison in less than a month. Earlier on March 11, the prison was searched. During the raid, every ward in the prison was searched by officers and police personnel. However, during the raid, no objectionable material was found from around 1100 prisoners placed in the prison. The prison was inspected by forming seven separate teams under the guidance of the magistrate from 5:30pm to 7pm. In the raid which lasted for an hour and a half, an intense inspection was carried out of all the wards, all the cells, every hole and corner of the Central Jail including the canteen. The raiding team included SP Reshma Ramesan, Sadar SDO Anurag Tiwari, SDPO Manibhushan Prasad, Supply Officer Preeti Kisku, Sadar CO Amarjeet Balhotra, city police station in-charge Devvrat Poddar and a large number of officers and police personnel.
