Although the Chaitra rains damage other crops, it is very favorable for mango cultivation. This is because the mango trees have budded a little later in the current season. Right now, mango pods have just come out of the flowers in the garden. At this time the Horticulture Department is advising mango growers to spray water in their orchards. Because the fruit falls from the bud if it doesn’t get enough water. However, as it has rained, there is no need to water the roots of the trees. The tumor will grow rapidly. However, there is a possibility of a fungal attack as cloudy skies are forecast for the next few days.

Horticulture department officials have advised to spray fungicides on trees immediately if there is any fungal attack at the moment. If you do this little bit, you’ll have huge mangos this season. Maldah District Horticulture Department official Samant Layek said the current rainfall is very good for mangoes. Mango from bud to pulp. But incessant rain can cause a fungal attack. At this time, the garden must be sprayed with fungicides. Then you will get a good yield of mangoes.

According to Maldah District Horticulture Department sources, 31 thousand 550 hectares of land has been cultivated in the district this season. Compared to last year, the area under mango cultivation has increased slightly this year. Last year, the mango production in the district was 3 lakh 81,000 metric tons. Mangoes are out of season this year. Fewer mangoes sprouted than in orchards. So this year the mango yield is likely to be low from the start. But the possibility of increase in yield has been increased due to rainfall only at the time of ripening of mangos. Officials of the district horticulture department said that there is a possibility of good mango yield due to rain. About 3 lakh 50 thousand metric tons of mangoes are likely to be harvested this year. But it all depends on the weather. If there is no natural disaster in the future, the mango yield will be good.
