Drugs were hidden in bread and cookie containers.

The person driving the vehicle, identified as Dinova, was arrested, officials said. He started his journey from Izaol and carried the drugs in containers of bread and cookies.

Inspector General of Assam STF, Partha Sarthi Mahant, said, “Ten days ago we received information that drugs from the neighboring country would be taken to Assam, from where they would be sent to other cities. Three days ago we received information that smugglers had started their journey.”

He also said that on Thursday evening 21.5 kg of heroin was seized, of which 18 kg in pure form and 3.5 kg are intended for consumers. Its total value is 210 million rupees, but 18 kg of pure heroin was mixed with other substances to make it 50-60 kg. Sources said that its price now stands at 540 million rupees.
