A woman living in a village in Panipat, Haryana was severely tortured at her in-laws house for demanding a Creta car as dowry. However, a Swift car was accepted as a dowry. Sister-in-law stole tools and clothes
In the complaint given to the police, a woman said that she lives in Rajakhedi village. She was married in December 2021 to Bijendra, a resident of Badauli village, Panipat district. Jewelery and other household items including a Swift car worth Rs 7 lakh were given as dowry. But the family-in-law was not happy with this dowry.
Even after this he ridiculed her for bringing less dowry. Her husband Bijendra taunted that her parents had asked for Crete, but they didn’t give it. The two sisters-in-law, Poojan and Suman, started taunting him that their brother’s relatives were coming from big houses. Within 10 days of the wedding, the sisters-in-law took the key to his trunk, removed the valuable clothes and equipment and took them to their in-laws’ house.
Her husband took jewelery from the cupboard and sold it
In January 2022, her husband Bijendra took the key to the cupboard and removed the chain, ring and bracelet from it. When asked, he said he needed money, so he had sold it to the goldsmith. On June 2022, the husband asked her to take that Swift car home. Sell it and give Creta car or give 15 lakh cash.
After beating them, they threw them out of the house and threatened to return only with the cash. The mother’s side gave Rs 5 lakh. After living well for a few days, her in-laws once again made her leave her parents’ house to demand a new car.
In July 2022, the man admitted his mistake in front of the Panchayat and took him home. A daughter was born to her in January 2023. She was of the opinion that the daughter was unpromising and threw her out of the house in May 2023. Mother-in-law said that they will marry their son for the second time.
