If you have to fly in the coming days, then check the prices of the plane tickets once, because these days the rates on the major airlines of the country have increased by 38 to 40 percent. These fares have increased on the routes where Vistara Airlines has now canceled its flights.

According to the data provided by the private airline ticket booking agency, the fares on the lines on which the Vistara airline has canceled its flights are rising rapidly. The average point fare on the Bengaluru-Udaipur route rose by about 38% to Rs 6,049 on April 2, which was Rs 4,368 on March 5. On April 2, flight prices on the Delhi-Srinagar route increased by about 30 percent compared to the rate on March 5. The steep increase in fares on the Bengaluru-Udaipur route is also due to the fact that there are only two daily flights (Vistara and IndiGo) between the two cities. Apart from this, increase in fares was also seen in Delhi-Indore, Delhi-Sringar, Mumbai-Kochi, Mumbai to Srinagar and Delhi to Mumbai.

In fact, this Vistara Airlines case came just before the start of summer vacation. In general, there is a shortage of flights during this period, due to which the tickets become more expensive. Not only that, currently 75 Indigo planes are unable to fly due to problems with the Pratt & Whitney engines installed in them. While in May last year itself, Go Air also stopped its flights due to financial problems. The number of SpiceJet flights has also decreased. Boeing and Airbus are also not delivering new planes to these companies as promised. Therefore there is already pressure on the airspace.

150 flights were canceled in three days

Visra’s crisis came to light last weekend, when all its pilots went on vacation. After that, the company faces difficulties in operating daily flights. First of all, on Monday, April 1, the company canceled about 80 flights. About 90 flights were delayed. The number of regular daily flights of the company is about 300. That is, from the first day of this week, more than half of Vistra’s flights started to be affected. 50 Wistra flights were canceled on Tuesday and 26 on Wednesday. The number of canceled flights in the first three days crossed 150. According to the information, the Vistara Airlines crisis may end soon. Airline flights may also become normal by the end of the week. Vistra Airlines itself noted this.

DGCA is monitoring the developments

DGCA is also keeping an eye on this whole matter. This is the reason why DGCA has sought answers from Vista Airlines for canceling a large number of flights. Also, in view of the pilots’ opposition, DGCA has now halted the implementation of the new flight time restriction rules and sought further discussion on them. The new rules were supposed to come into effect on June 1.

Vistara Airlines CEO Vinod Kannan and several other executives held a virtual meeting with pilots and other staff on Wednesday evening. The issue of the new contract and staff was discussed in this meeting. Citing sources in the company, it was said that after the meeting the pilots are also ready for cooperation. The merger of Vistara Airlines with Air India is expected to take place by May.
