The Central Drug Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) announced that 53 drugs failed a quality check. After this report came in September, the tension of those taking medicines from chemists increased. There is tension in Bihar also because there are concerns about the side effects of medicines.

.

ADRPVPI app was created by the Drug Commission of India. The toll free number has been issued as per the guidelines of the Government of India. A mobile application was created in 2017 according to the guidelines of the Indian government regarding the side effects of the drug.

Ask for help using a mobile app

The responsibility for monitoring the side effects of medicines in Israel is done by the Indian Medicines Commission. ADRPVPI app was created by the Drug Commission of India. The toll free number has been issued as per the guidelines of the Government of India. A mobile application was created in 2017 according to the guidelines of the Indian government regarding the side effects of the drug. Its aim was to help the common people with the side effects of drugs, at the same time, information about such drugs should be easily available to the government. Along with this, the government should also do research on such drugs whose side effects are apparent.

11 centers built in Bihar

The government claimed to update the ADRPVPI mobile app in 2024. For this purpose, 11 centers have been established in Bihar. Centers dealing with adverse drug reactions have been set up in 11 medical colleges including IGIMS, AIIMS, Netaji Subhash Medical College and Patna Hospital. After a complaint on the app or the toll-free number, the nearest ADR center will receive the information, after which the concerned hotline will call the patient for help and receive complete information. If the patient’s condition worsens, experts from the center will arrive who will take full information and fully examine the patient.

Bhaskar’s investigation, the monitoring system has failed

A claim was submitted by the government regarding the upgrade of the application in September 2024. It said that 11 centers of the state are fully active on this issue. Anyone can complain about the side effects of the drug while sitting at home through the app and the toll-free number. When Dinik Bhaskar investigated this claim, a shocking incident came to light. Reporter Bhaskar tried to download the app on his mobile, but the app was not downloaded from the Google Play Store. I got the message that this app is for the old version of Android. After that, we called the toll free number 18001803024 to inquire about the center. Many times we did not receive an answer to the calls.

Not getting help even from a toll free number

We spoke on the toll-free number. The reporter complained of vomiting and dizziness after consuming painkillers. After receiving the complete information, you will be told that you will receive a call from the nearest ADR center. Despite waiting for hours, there was no call from the center.

The reporter started calling again but was unable to reach us on the free phone for two days. After much effort, the reporter was contacted by toll-free phone on October 3, the same question was again asked complaining of dizziness and vomiting after taking the medicine. But after taking full information from the reporter, the call was disconnected and no one contacted him after that. The reporter tried to call the toll-free number again on October 6 but was unable to reach it.

The ADR center told about the problems of the people

We tried to speak to Dr. Pramod Kumar, ADR coordinator of the ADR center set up at AIIMS Patna, about the reaction to the drug, but he refused to give official information in this regard. However, he acknowledged the problems of the people. Dr. Pramod said that the work of upgrading the app continues It causes trouble.

Only claims are filed, no benefits are received

A doctor posted at the ADR center of Patna AIIMS said off the record that the entire system has failed. Not getting any help from the app. Earlier the app was working but after some changes the app stopped working. For this reason it is updated. When asked about not getting help on the toll-free number, the doctor said that the whole system is not working. There are also many problems due to lack of staff. It is said that until now the toll-free number only works between the hours of 9:00 and 17:00 from Monday to Friday. In such a situation, the question is that if someone has any problem at night then how he will be able to take advantage of this system. The reporter spoke to Jai Prakash, Scientific Officer, Indian Pharmacopoeia, who monitors the entire system and prepares the app. People will be able to avail the benefit of this facility only after upgrading the app.
