Guwahati: 35-year-old Saibuddin Ahmed lost his life in an alleged hit-and-run accident near Santipur Slice Gate area in Guwahati at around 10.45 pm on Thursday, October 3, according to a delay report.

Ahmed, who lived on rent in the settlement of Santipur, was crossing the road when a white car – still unidentified – hit him and fled. Ahmed died of his injuries on the spot before medical help could reach him.
In a conversation with GPlus, an official from the police station in Harlomuch confirmed the incident and said " The investigation was underway. Efforts were made to identify the vehicle and driver responsible for the fatal accident."
Police are examining CCTV footage to locate the driver involved.
