Electricity Department, BDO Muhammad Asif and CO Mohit Raj together held a meeting at the block headquarters regarding the installation of smart meters in Pothia block of Kishanganj district. During it, instructions were given to arouse the attention of those present in the rural areas for the installation of smart meters by running an awareness campaign. In this regard, Futia BDO Muhammad Asif said that many kinds of wrong things were spread among the people regarding smart meters. It will overcome together.
The members present at the meeting were asked to raise awareness in their fields by providing correct information about the benefits of smart meters and their facts. JE Pramod Kumar of Pothia Power House said that some people are spreading wrong things in the area regarding smart meters. Upon receiving a complaint and evidence, action will be taken against them.
SDO Madhukar Varnamali, who was present in the meeting, said that a smart meter does not generate many bills. If any consumer has a doubt then he can install the old smart meter together and test it. The meeting was attended by a senior engineer, assistant engineer, junior engineer, BDO, CO and many other officials and public representatives of the electricity department.
