Quetta (News Desk) Balochistan government has decided to demolish and rebuild the provincial assembly building, for which an amount of more than 5 billion rupees has been allocated. According to the decision, the assembly building will be demolished and rebuilt in a new style that will include all modern facilities.

Balochistan Assembly spokesman Abdul Khaliq Khan said that there is no proper place for members to sit in the House, while everything is becoming inefficient with the passage of time.

Abdul Khaliq Khan said that initially the government’s intention was to renovate the assembly building, but later we decided that a lot of money would be spent on renovation, so the building should be demolished and rebuilt, which has modern facilities .

He said that during the construction of the new building, where the number of seats for the members will increase, the offices of the members of the assembly will also be improved.

Historical Significance of Balochistan Assembly
The current building of the Balochistan Assembly is built in the style of a tent called Gadan in the Balochi language. The foundation stone of this Assembly building in Balochistan over an area of ​​12 acres was laid in 1973 by the then Governor Nawab Muhammad Akbar Khan Bugti.

After a long period of 15 years, the building was completed, and the assembly building was opened on 28 April 1987 by the then Prime Minister Muhammad Khan Junejo.

If we talk about the capacity in the house, then the assembly site has a seating capacity for 72 members while 25 seats are available for government officials and 25 seats for guests. Apart from this, there are 168 seats in the visitors’ gallery for the public and 25 seats for the media.

It should be noted that the Balochistan House Assembly consists of 65 members.
