In Karnataka, BJP president BY Vijayendra accused the Congress government of targeting Hindu thinker Vinayak Damodar Savarkar to divert public attention from the Muda scam. State health minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Wednesday claimed that Savarkar ate meat and was not against cow slaughter. The BJP leader countered this saying that his fight will continue until the corrupt Congress leaders are brought to account.
BY Vijayendra said in an online post, “This is a betrayal of our national heroes. The Congress government has shamelessly targeted Veer Savarkar in the lust for power. He is a patriot who gave his life for the freedom of India. The Congress has only done this to divert public attention from the fraud of this ploy to Misleading the public is unacceptable.” He further said that the BJP will fight till the corrupt Congress leaders take responsibility.
The BJP leader further said, “This is not only an attack on Savarkar, but is an insult to every Indian who appreciates the sacrifices of the country. As Veer Savarkar himself said, freedom is never given, it is only taken “No lie or distraction will hide the truth .” Let us tell you that Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said: “Chitpavan Brahmin Savarkar used to eat meat. He was non-vegetarian and was not against cow slaughter. He was modern in a way.”
The Lokayukta police on September 27 registered a case against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvati and others in the Muda (Mysore Urban Development Authority) case. In this case, the ED had on September 30 filed an Enforcement Information Report (ECIR), similar to a police FIR, against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for irregularities in the allotment of 14 sites by Moda to Parvati BM.
