Lakhs of people gathered at these two ghats to bathe in the Ganga. In view of the huge crowd, the administration has carried out berry cutting on the banks of the ghat and apart from divers, SDRF team has been deployed for security. Apart from this, apart from police officers, magistrates have been deployed in all the Jats to keep an eye on social factors.
All vehicular traffic has been banned on the main road leading to Ganga Ghat, so that devotees do not face any problem in travel, and police personnel have been deployed at various places.
Here in Munger, due to the continuous rise in the water level of Ganga, the district administration has locked the main Kasharani Ghat located at the district headquarters, considering it a threat. Because of this no priest can enter inside and no devotee can go to the ghat to bathe in the Ganga.
A bath in the Ganga at Kashtharni Ghat has a different meaning. Lord Shri Ram also bathed in the Ganga here, that’s why people come to this ghat to bathe in the Ganga and the biggest crowd here is to bathe in the Ganga on Durga Puja and Chhat Puja. But due to rise in water level of Ganga, this ghat has been identified as a dangerous ghat by the government, due to which the ghat has been locked by the government in view of the excessive crowd on Durga Puja.
