A youth died after being hit by a vehicle on Sunday night near Saidpur village under Kalyanpur police station area in Samastipur. The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Bhagat of Rangoli village in Mushari police station area of Muzaffarpur district. The deceased’s brother said that due to the dispute at the police station, the body of the young man was left lying in the Sadar Hospital for 5 hours waiting for the post-mortem. Later, with the intervention of the SP, the Kalyanpur police station arrived at the scene and conducted the post-mortem of the body.

Regarding the incident, the brother of the deceased, Prabash Kumar, said that his brother came to his brother-in-law’s house in the Varisnagar police station area. Late at night he cycled back to Musahari in Muzaffarpur via Kalyanpur. The van hit him near the village of Saidpur.
After this incident, nearby people admitted him to Kalyanpur PSC. From there we were sent to Sadr Hospital for better treatment. When the family contacted the city police station, they were told that the place of the incident was Kalyanpur. Therefore, the Kalyanpur police will conduct a postmortem on all of them. Due to this, the body was left lying in Sadar Hospital for about 5 hours. Later the family members informed the SP about the matter, then the police of Kalyanpur police station arrived at the scene. A post-mortem was performed on the body and the body was handed over to the family members.
