Accident while saving a boy
According to information received from nearby people regarding the incident, about 5-6 youths came to Marmara Ghat on Sunday morning. where two youths and a boy jumped into the Ganga and began to bathe. During this period one of the boys began to drown. A young man who went to his rescue pushed the boy upwards but himself entered deep water and drowned. He was pulled out of the water by a local diver but he was already dead. After the drowning of the young man, all the boys who bathed with him first raised an alarm but when he drowned, they ran away. The same people said that all the youths are residents of Pandi Patti and Naya Bazaar.
Regarding the incident, Circle Officer Prashant Shandilya said that the young man’s body was taken out by divers with the help of local people. Efforts are being made to identify the youth. After that, compensation will be given as part of a disaster.
