The railways had made arrangements for digital payment through the QR code in order to give passengers the choice to book tickets in a convenient and modern way. For this, the QR code payment facility was available at unreserved and reserved booking counters. Recently, people are facing difficulties in many stations while using this facility. To make payment via QR code, payment is not possible even after repeated attempts. A message comes due to payment failure due to technical reasons.
Many times such a situation arises that money is withdrawn from the ticket booker’s account but no payment is made. It takes 24 hours or more for the money deducted to be returned. In such a situation, the person coming to order has to pay cash and get the ticket booked. In case of persistent payment failure, booking clerks also suggest that passengers pay cash instead of digital payment.
The biggest problem when paying for tickets by digital means is the slow internet due to lack of network. Many private operators in Dhanbad and surrounding areas are facing network issues in their mobile connections since long. Sometimes the internet gets very slow because the network comes and goes. Sometimes it stops suddenly. When making a payment via QR code, if the network goes out then payment cannot be made. This problem is more visible in stations in small and rural areas, where there are already problems with infrastructure and digital networks.
