In a city like Bangalore, which is always busy, there is not much opportunity for people to connect. Even in such a city, the encouraging act of a mobile police officer has drawn the attention of hope and gratitude. The hero of this story is Mr. Arun Kumar, a traffic police constable posted in High Grounds station area. He has gone beyond his duty and delivered his lost valuables to a man.
Shashidhar Gowda, a resident of Gayatri Nagar and a senior professional, was returning home from the HSR scheme after finishing his work when the unfortunate incident took place. Tired of long work, he fell asleep in the autorickshaw during the journey. His laptop bag containing work essentials and personal documents lay somewhere on the road.
When Shashidhar reached near his house, he noticed that the bag was missing. Panicked, he went back the way he came with the auto driver to find the missing bag in fear. Despite searching for many kilometers, there was no trace of the missing bag. Left with no other option, Shashidhar immediately filed a last e-complaint and was in the process of filing an FIR to satisfy the office’s demands. As the weight of the situation fell on him, a sense of helplessness and tension overwhelmed him.
The incident took an unexpected turn. Around 10 o’clock that night, there was a knock on the door of Shashidhar’s house. Traffic police constable Arun Kumar came to Sashidhar’s house after picking up the bag found near the traffic signal in Malleswaram. This not only surprised him, but also freed him from the immense pressure in his head. Arun Kumar, who showed tremendous duty and humanity, searched the bag to find the address. Finding Shashidhar’s home address, he wanted to deliver the bag personally. He returned the bag by hand even though his working period was over.

Apart from returning the lost item, Arun Kumar’s act of kindness beyond his official responsibilities is commendable. For Shashidhar, getting his laptop bag back in time feels like a miracle. It was critical to his job. “I am very impressed by Arun Kumar’s selfless kindness. His humanity in helping even after his duty hours is outstanding. He returned after ensuring the safe arrival of the bag, for which I am forever grateful,” said Shashidhar .
This incident is yet another testament to the often overlooked commitment of the city’s police officers to keeping the public safe. Arun Kumar’s selfless work, even in the midst of a busy schedule, his small acts of kindness and human connection can make a big difference.
