The ongoing controversy over Tirupati temple offerings in Andhra Pradesh has taken on a political colour. YSRCP leaders perform rituals
Jagan Mohan Reddy called upon his party leaders and workers to perform rituals to atone for the alleged sin committed by Chandrababu Naidu through the allegations. On Saturday, senior YSRCP leader and former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board chairman B Karunakar Reddy offered prayers at the Gangama temple in Tataya Gunta, Tirupati. Similarly, former Irrigation Minister and YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu offered prayers at the Venkatswara Swamy temple in Guntur.
Talking to a local news channel, YSRCP leader Sharmila Reddy said, “Naidu has even dragged God into politics and created a huge ruckus over an incident that never happened. I am asking one thing. Who was the Chief Minister when the shipment of ghee (tankers of alleged fake ghee) arrived )?’ Protesting Naidu’s claims, many YSRCP supporters and workers organized special poojas (rituals) in Eluru district as well.
