GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday concluded his three-day visit to the United States, departing from the John F. Canadian in New York. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi attended the Four Leaders Summit, engaged with the Indian community, and addressed the UN General Assembly’s (UNGA) “Future Summit”.

Arriving in the US on Friday, Prime Minister Modi attended the Quad leaders’ summit in Wilmington, Delaware, hosted by US President Joe Biden. The summit brought together Modi, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albany, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, where the leaders adopted the Wilmington Quad Declaration, reaffirming the Quad’s commitment as "Power for global good." Modi also held key bilateral meetings with the Australian Prime Minister and the Japanese Prime Minister, who discussed ways to enhance cooperation for the peace, stability and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region.

On the second day of his visit, Prime Minister Modi addressed a large gathering of the Indian diaspora at the “Modi and USA” event at the Nassau Coliseum in New York. Sharing highlights of the event on social media, Prime Minister Modi said, "Thank you, New York! These are glimpses from the unforgettable community program."

He also held important bilateral talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Palestinian President Abu Mazen, where he expressed concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and reiterated India’s support for Palestine. Other significant meetings included discussions with Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli, Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and President Tu Lam of Vietnam.

The visit ended with Prime Minister Modi’s speech at the 79th United Nations “Future Summit”, where he focused on the responsible use of technology, cyber and space security, and the importance of global cooperation. Modi emphasized that digital public infrastructure should serve to bridge global divides, not create new barriers, and called for reforms in global institutions to ensure they remain relevant.

In addition, Prime Minister Modi participated in a roundtable discussion with top technology leaders and CEOs, hosted by the MIT School of Engineering in New York, highlighting India’s expanding role in the global technology industry.
