Guwahati: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will run three pairs of weekly special trains to ease the Durga Puja travel rush, including one from Assam.

Announcing this on Monday, September 23, the NFR said the trains will run between Rangapara North-Salimar, Forbesganj-Agra Cantt., and New Jalpaiguri-Howrah.
Special train no. 08047 will operate between Shlimar and Rangpara North for three journeys, departing Shlimar at 18:00 every Friday from 4 October to 18 October, arriving in Rangpara North at 13:40 the following day. Return service, train no. 08048, will depart from Rangpara North at 4.30 pm every Saturday from October 5 to October 19, and will reach Shalimar at 12.30 pm the next day, the statement said.
train no. 04195 will run between Agra Cantt. and Forbesganj for eight journeys, departing from Agra Cantt. at 5:00 a.m. every Friday from October 4 to November 22, till Forbesganj at 3:15 p.m. the next day. Return service, train no. 04196, will depart Forbesganj at 6:40 PM every Saturday from October 5 to November 23, and arrive at Agra Cantt. At 7:10 a.m. the following Monday.
Special train no. 03027 will run between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri for four journeys, departing Howrah at 23:55 every Wednesday from October 9 to November 6, arriving New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 the next day. In the return direction, train no. 03028 will depart New Jalpaiguri at 12:45 PM every Thursday from October 10 to November 7 and arrive at Hora at 12:10 PM the next day.
Passengers are advised to check the exact timings and stops of these trains on the IRCTC website or through NFR’s social media platforms before planning their journey.
