There are total 38 districts in Bihar, one engineering college has been opened in each district. They study engineering there. Students studying in these colleges have to pay Rs 10 per month. Whereas, 5 rupees per month is charged from polytechnic students. There are 46 polytechnic colleges in the country. Minister Sumit Singh says Bihar government does not charge any fees for engineering studies. Only token money is taken from students. In an engineering college this fee is only 10 rupees per month and in a polytechnic college it is 5 rupees per month.
There is also provision for lateral entry in engineering colleges and polytechnics of Bihar. A total of 3,000,733 students got admission through lateral entry in the academic session 2023-24. For B.Tech, 2,000 572 students and for Polytechnic, 1,000 161 students got admission through lateral entry. The Bihar Common Entrance Competitive Examination Board conducts the registration examination. While 8,000 429 students got admission to B.Tech. 14 thousand 47 students enrolled in the Polytechnic. In the current session 2024-25 there is counseling for 12 thousand 280 seats for B.Tech, 13 thousand 912 seats for Polytechnic and 386 seats for M.Tech.
The Patna Science Center will be ready in four months
The civil work of the international level science center built in Patna has been completed. It will open to the public in three to four months. The science center being built in Rajendra Nagar area of Patna is expected to be inaugurated before the assembly elections. Science and Technology Minister Sumit Singh said that researchers not only from the country but also from abroad will come here. It will be a great space for science. An international level center will be built.
