The recovered vehicles, bearing registration numbers DL9CAP9901 and AS01JC5194, were reported stolen from Delhi.

Investigation revealed that the stolen vehicles were brought to Guwahati after their registration numbers, engine numbers and chassis numbers were doctored to prevent detection. This change was apparently made as part of an effort to disguise the vehicles and resell them illegally.

One Rajesh Singh (34), a resident of Sirabad, Rajasthan, was arrested in connection with the case from Kundal Nagar. Singh is suspected of being a member of an interstate car theft gang operating in various parts of India. Authorities have initiated legal action against Rajesh Singh and are continuing their investigation to uncover additional links to the interstate vehicle theft network
