The matter happened two days ago on Tuesday night, 17th September, when Girija Devi, wife of Suresh Singh Gurjar, who lived near Kote Ki Sarai in Jhansi Road police station area, Gwalior, had a dispute with her brother-in-law Jandel Gurjar regarding land. There was a dispute between them many times. On Tuesday, Girija Devi had gone to the Hanuman temple near the house to light a lamp. Then Sonu and Monu, the sons of her brother-in-law Jandel Singh Gurjar, came there on a bike and started abusing her. When he protested, the accused started beating him. Seeing the attack on the woman, nearby shop owners Ravi Gurjar, Sunita Sharma and his daughters Lalo, Kayal and son Narendra intervened. By then the two nephews had left there after threatening to teach him a lesson.
Go after menacing, return and shoot
After Sonu and Monu left, Girija went to the temple to keep the lamp. But as soon as the woman came out of the temple after setting the lamp, Sonu and Monu reached there again and drew their pistols and fired at her. Before the woman was shot, both of their rounds had missed but the third bullet had hit Girija’s forehead because he was injured and fell there, and they both fled from there after shooting him.

As soon as the woman Girija got the news that she had been shot, other family members reached the spot and after being injured, she was admitted to a private hospital near the house and informed the police. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and after investigation, on the complaint of the injured woman, registered a case of attempt to murder the two accused and started searching for them.
After questioning, the police sent the accused to jail
Jhansi Road police station commander Mangal Singh Papola said Girija Devi Gurjar was shot dead two days ago by her nephews Sonu and Monu Gurjar in Kote Sarai over a land dispute. The bullet hit the woman in the forehead and the accused fled away. SI Awadhesh Singh Kushwaha and other policemen at the police station were sent to arrest the accused. Late on Thursday night, the police team nabbed the accused Sonu and Monu Gurjar from Nagaur Highway along with the motorcycle and the pistol used in the incident.
