As part of the ongoing foundation course for Deputy Collectors, a training session on “Conflict Negotiation and Management” was organized at RCVP’s Noronha Academy on Thursday. In this session, more than 30 deputy collectors were appointed management experts and IIM graduates.

In this session, participants were introduced to Negotiation and Conflict Management through various psychology and management theories and models. Addressing the participants, Rai spoke about people’s decisions and said that people do not always act rationally and have prejudices. He made it clear through the Prospect theory that people give different importance to gains and losses, because the person faces an imbalance between the pleasure of winning and the pain of losing.
Speaking on Conflict Management, Rai explained in detail the different negotiation styles, steps and strategies. He told the participants that in order to be successful in any negotiation they should consider their options and keep the best option in mind in case they fail.
