Dr Madan Lal Khichad, Chairman, Department of Agricultural Meteorology, Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) said that the weather in Haryana is likely to remain generally changeable till September 29.

During this period, there is a possibility of an increase in the activity of monsoon winds, due to which there is a possibility of intermittent strong winds and thunderstorms in most areas of the state along with light to moderate rain in some places. Because of this, there is also the possibility of a slight drop in the daytime temperature and an increase in the humidity in the atmosphere.

Rainfall of 390.4 mm so far in the monsoon season

Due to monsoon activity across the state, 15.9 mm rainfall has occurred in the last 24 hours. So far, 390.4 mm of rain has been received in the monsoon season, which is only 3 percent less than the normal of 401.1 mm. This time in July, there was the least amount of rain in 5 years.

There was 549 mm of rain in 2018. Rainfall of 244.8 mm was recorded in 2019, 440.6 in 2020, 668.1 in 2021, 472 in 2022, 390 in 2023 and only 97.9 mm in 2024. Due to less rain, the Paddy farmers of the state are suffer huge losses. They must irrigate from tube wells.

5 died in 5 days
