Sagar Collector Sandeep GR reviewed the work being done in Sagar district under Jal Jeevan Mission. He showed a strict attitude in the review. The Collector has given instructions that such contractors who are not working and are also absent from the field, should be arrested immediately.

He has said that tap connections should be provided inside the house so that on one hand water will be easily available, while on the other hand there will be no wastage of water. PHE and Jal Nigam have been directed to submit daily reports on number of newly added households, length of pipe laid daily and progress of construction of overhead tanks in terms of domestic tap connections. And the collector himself will review. Do not build overhead tanks near residential areas and schools. The Collector has directed that the place where the overhead tank will be constructed should be selected with a complete implementation plan. Overhead tanks should not be built close to residential areas, schools etc. and for water conservation, recharge ponds should also be built near the overhead tanks. Along with this, restoration work should be done side by side. The Collector has directed that all the officers concerned should join the Block Level Sanitation Committee and the Village Level Sanitation Committee, place necessary proposals related to the scheme before the committee, take suggestions from them and take the steps necessary by making decisions unanimously. All officers should work so that the benefits of all beneficiary oriented schemes including Jal Jeevan Mission reach every eligible person. He has said that schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission have been made with the aim of bringing far-reaching positive changes in people’s lives which should be completed with all seriousness. Instructions were also given to PHE sub-engineers and group project contractors to set targets for the projects and monitor them regularly. Water will reach 1830 villages under 9 schemes While reviewing the work of Jal Nigam in the review meeting, it was said that 1830 villages have been identified through 9 schemes in the area. In which drinking water will be supplied through a tap water scheme. Of these, bulk water will be supplied in 478 villages. Madhiya Group Water Supply Scheme containing 312 grams, Buxwaha Group Water Supply Scheme containing 244 grams, Gadhakota Group Water Supply Scheme containing 111 grams, Bina-Khurai Water Supply Scheme containing 302 grams, Scheme Malthon Group Water Supply Scheme covering 205 grams, Shahgarh-Banda Water Supply Scheme Scheme covering 135 villages, Sanaudha-Madhiya Group Water Supply Scheme covering 57 villages, Deori-Kesli Group Water Supply Scheme covering n covering 387 villages and Sanaudha-Banda Group Water Supply Scheme covering 56 villages. In which water is to be supplied. Drinking water should be supplied to all the villages through all the schemes with time.
