Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made several major foreign trips in the first 100 days of his third term, including promoting foreign policy at the G-7 summit in Italy, and important visits to Russia and Ukraine. In addition, the first bilateral visit of the Prime Minister of India to Brunei also made headlines as a major international event.
The 50th G-7 summit was held in Apulia, Italy from June 13 to 15. During this, Prime Minister Modi held bilateral talks with prominent world leaders.
Prime Minister Modi visited Russia on July 8. He arrived in Russia at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin to hold the 22nd annual India-Russia Summit. Prime Minister Modi was on a two-day visit at the invitation of his Singaporean counterpart Lawrence Wong. On September 3, Prime Minister Modi arrived in Lavender Sri Bagan, Brunei, on an official visit at the invitation of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. It was the first bilateral visit by the Prime Minister of India, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Brunei.
Apart from that, on August 21-22, Prime Minister Modi paid a two-day visit to Poland. He came to Poland at the invitation of his Polish colleague Donald Tusk. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on August 6, Fijian President Rato William Mawalili Katunibar honored President Draupadi Murmu with the ‘Order of Fiji’, the country’s highest civilian honour.
