Six rebel members of the Himachal Congress and three independents joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi on Saturday. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur inaugurated him in the party by donning a patka at the party headquarters. These MLAs had cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha elections in Himachal. As a result the Congress candidates lost.

After joining the BJP, all 9 MLAs met late at 9pm.
