John O’Connor and Matthew Tetley visited Redwell Hills Nursing Home in Leadgate today to give a talk on the centenary of Consett Rugby Club.
The residents watched part of https://www.youtube.com/@ConsettRFC and were impressed by Roy Tyerman.
The visit was organized by Ellie Crowe, Redwell Hills activities co-ordinator and the residents have been invited to attend a rugby match and have a tour of the club.
“It was an enjoyable morning and it was particularly moving for me as my mother lived in Redwell Hills for a long time. It is very important in Consett Rugby Club’s centenary season to reach out to all parts of our community and the residents were delighted to receive the rugby balls so they could play the game in their own time!”
