Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar on Tuesday described India-Africa relations as very deep. He said that India has expanded its diplomatic footprint in Africa and the total number of Indian missions in this continent now stands at 45. Jaishankar was speaking at an event organized to mark Africa Day.
Jaishankar also said that India, the country with the largest population and the fifth largest economy in the world, sees Africa as a natural partner. He said, we all know that today Africa is going through a period of rapid changes. From being the cradle of human civilization, it is about to become the land of the future.
The foreign minister said that this is the continent with the youngest population and vast natural resources. His abilities are increasing. Markets are growing and ambitions are rising. According to him, India, the country with the largest population and the fifth largest economy in the world, sees Africa as its natural partner.
