The technical approval process continues for the creation of electronic charging points for the Prime Minister’s electronic bus service in Ripur and Durg. Mahu Delhi has given permission to operate 240 e-buses in Chhattisgarh. Of these, 100 in Ripur, 50-50 in Durg, Hilai and Bilaspur and 40 in Kurba.

In fact, charging points, service centers and bus terminal offices will be built in all places with central government funds. In this framework, the cost of all electrical works from the charging point will be borne by the center and in civil works a contribution of 70 percent from the center and 30 percent from the state government.
‘Mahua’ Delhi invited bids
State Coordinator of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (Mahua) Ekta Kapoor told ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ that Mahua has given permission to start e-bus service at 240 pm in 5 cities of the state. Before the start of the e-bus, proposals were invited for the construction of an e-charging point, a service center and an office building.
The process is underway to give it technical approval. As soon as the technical approval is received, the construction work of electronic charging points and office buildings can begin in all locations.
A charging point will be set up at Koni, Bilaspur
To operate an e-bus in Bilaspar, an e-charging point will be established at the city bus terminal located in Koni. According to Corporation Commissioner Amit Komar, in order to make necessary preparations for the operation of electronic city buses, such as an electronic charging point, a 2500 kilowatt electric substation will be built to charge the buses. He said that about 5 million rupees will be spent on electrical works.
10 thousand electronic buses will be operated throughout the country
As part of the Prime Minister’s Bus Service Plan, the central government gave permission in 2023 to operate 10,000 electronic city buses in 169 cities in the country. The purpose of the program is to provide pollution-free and well-equipped public transportation to the city’s residents.
As part of the program, PM e buses will be operated in Ripur, Bilaspur Durg, Bhilai and Kurba in a phased manner. A tender is under process at Mahua Delhi level for running e-buses in all cities on PPP mode.
