It is certain that the applicant or someone on his behalf will be required to come to the police station within three days and sign the FIR registered with the police. Complaints are often received that the police do not register an FIR even several days after fraud, robbery and sometimes even an assault. The victims have to make rounds at police stations to register cases, with the new provision such complaints will no longer exist.

Let us know what will change in the law with the new instructions…

The matter will not last long, DSP will have to investigate in 14 days
People’s biggest problem in registering FIR will be removed from July 1. As soon as a telephone complaint is filed, the police will have to register a case immediately. Not only that, any victim in any corner of the country will be able to report the incident by reaching any other country at any time.

Like if a person from Raipur goes to Bangalore or Mumbai. He had an incident there. If for some reason or at that time he was unable to get to the police station there to file a complaint and had to return immediately, he can go to any police station in Ripur and file a report about the incident.

The police will register an FIR at zero here and forward the case log to the concerned police station. Apart from this, the police will not be able to extend any case in the name of investigation. A DSP rank officer will have to investigate within 14 days.

Terrorism case: UAPA or Section 113, the state police will investigate
A provision was established in section 113 for cases against those who carry out terrorist activities and act against the integrity and unity of the state. UAPA is also registered in such cases, but in 99% of the cases where UAPA is registered, the central agency investigates. Now if section 113 is registered, the state police can investigate.

But in which case to register UAPA and in that case to register a crime under section 113, it will be decided by officers of SP rank and above.
