ACB will present Udaipur SDM BR Khande and his three subordinates in court today, who were arrested on charges of taking bribe in Surguja, Chhattisgarh. After the arrest on Friday, the ACB team along with the SDM reached Gandhi Chowk’s residence and seized two bundles.

In fact, the accused demanded 50 thousand rupees from the applicant for the judgment in a pending case related to a real estate dispute. According to the information, the case related to the land dispute of Kanhai Ram Banjara, a resident of Jajaga village, is pending in the SDM court. The three lands of Kanhai Ram located in Jajaga, area number 0.251, 0.635 and 0.243 dunam are registered in his name and the name of his family members.
His older father (Tao) applied for the registration of the land only in his name. The then Tehsildar Udaipur gave an order on September 21, 2022 to amend the revenue records in the name of Kanhai Ram’s elder father and others in the case. This was appealed by Kanhai Ram’s elder father in the SDM court.

A bribe demanded a verdict
It is alleged that in the case SDM BR Khande sought a bribe of Rs 50 thousand from Kanhai Ram to give a verdict in his favour. On this Kanhai Ram complained about it to ACB. ACB investigated the matter after receiving the complaint and after confirmation, a trap was planned for Friday. The team was sent to Udaipur under the leadership of Ambikapur ACB DSP Pramod Kumar Khes.
At around 6 pm on Friday evening, Kanhai Ram Banjara reached the SDM office with notes containing chemicals. It is alleged that the SDM asked the clerk Drumple to take the bribe amount. Drumple took the money and gave it to a knight knight pawn. Later, on the order of SDM, the amount was given to the home guard Kwi Nath Singh.
During this, the ACB team conducted a raid and all the accused, including the SDM, were arrested red-handed while taking bribe.
It is alleged that Drumpal gave this amount to Peon Abir Ram and he handed it over to the city soldier Kavi Nath Singh.
SDM also wanted to take land of 50 decimal
SDM Bhagirathi Khande along with taking a bribe of 50 thousand rupees also tried to take over the land of Kanhai and his family. It is alleged that the SDM received the power of attorney to sell 50 decimal land in Jajaga in the name of two known women. So that in the future he can get the land in his name.
SDM came out smiling
After an inquiry at the residence of SDM Khande, who was caught giving bribe, when the ACB team left with him to the office, SDM came out smiling. There wasn’t even a frown on his face. Along with Ambikapur, SDM also allotted bungalows in Lakanpur and Udaipur.
There may be additional revelations in the investigation of documents
BR Khande was posted as SDM in Udaipur for a long time. His tenure is controversial. The ACB team is examining the documents recovered from the house. The SDM did not directly take the bribe amount, but ACB also got the power of attorney documents in its hands. If any discrepancy is found in document verification ,SDM will get involved in the action.
The employees caught by the ACB also include readers, peons and guards, who were caught for keeping money on the order of the SDM.
