A resident of Morena, Suraj Sikarwar, was arrested by the Madhavganj police on July 13, 2023 in the case of Akshay’s murder. An application for bail was presented in the trial court on behalf of the accused which was rejected on 26 April 2024. After this order, the bail petition was presented in the High Court.

In the hearing held on May 13, the court was told that the police declared Suraj a minor in the initial stages and referred the case to the Juvenile Justice Board. However, the police later filed a challan against the accused Suraj in the Sessions Court. On this the court has asked the first Suraj to be declared a minor and later a challenge was presented against Suraj along with other accused in the sessions court. There is also no information about the steps taken by the Youth Justice Board in the case diary and nothing was said in this regard by the accused. In such a situation, information in this regard should be submitted in a sealed envelope. Only after this will the bail petition be heard.
