Hubli: Southwest Railway has given good news to the people of North Karnataka. Hubli-Rameswaram special express extended and ordered. Apart from this, some demo trains have been canceled in South Western Railway due to emergency work.
The Railway Board has approved the extension of the running period of Special Express trains (07355 / 07356) which run once a week between Sri Siddharudh Swamiji Hubballi – Rameswaram stations with existing timings and stops.
Details of the extension period are as follows
1. SSS Hubli – Rameswaram Weekly Special Express train (07355) will continue its service from July 6 to December 28, 2024. Earlier this train was advised to run till June 29, 2024.
2. Rameswaram – SSS Hubli Weekly Special Express train (07356) will continue its service from July 7 to December 29, 2024. Earlier, it was suggested to run this train till June 30, 2024.
Demu special trains have been temporarily suspended
Track maintenance and safety work is carried out between Sanvordem – Kalem stations. In this background, South Western Railway informed that Demu Special Train (07379 / 07380) running between Vasco-da-Gama and Kulem stations is temporarily canceled from June 21 to August 17, 2024.

BJP protests against oil price hike
A protest was held in Hubli led by the BJP to condemn the rise in oil prices. The road was closed near the New English School roundabout in Hubli. BJP workers protested by blocking the Pune-Bangalore National Highway and raising slogans against the state government.
The protesters hit the effigies of Siddaramaiah and DK and shouted defiance, while the CM and the DCM burnt effigies and expressed their anger. The price hike has made the life of common people miserable. Petrol and diesel prices should be reduced immediately. If not, he warned that he will fight fiercely.
