Work for the construction of Chhattisgarh’s first tunnel under the Bharat Malla project began on Thursday. This tunnel is being built between Gobindpur and Basarwahi near Kashkal Valley for the project connecting Raipur to Visakhapatnam. This route passes through the green Sitnadi-Odanti temple area.

The width of the tunnels will be 14-14 meters. There will also be crossing points in 5 places within a radius of every 500 meters inside the tunnel. It takes 12-13 hours to cover the distance of 546 km from Raipur to Visakhapatnam. After the construction of the corridor the distance will be reduced to 463 km and the time will take only 7 hours.
