The contempt cases of the Election Commission and the Chief Election Commissioner against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry have been set for hearing.

Election Commission Member Nisar Durrani will hear the Election Commission’s contempt case, the Election Commission’s contempt case against Imran Khan will be heard on June 26, while the case against Fawad Chaudhry is also scheduled to be heard on June 26.

The notice said that according to PEMRA records, Imran Khan had used ridiculous and unparliamentary language against the Election Commission in his speeches, press conferences and statements on May 11, May 16, June 29, July 19, 20 and August 7, made derogatory statements and leveled baseless allegations which were broadcast live on mainstream television channels.
