In fact, in the 580th meeting of UGC, it was decided to start the admission facility twice a year. UGC has written a letter to all higher education institutions in this regard.
According to the UGC letter, the objective of creating an educationally and economically strong society and country has been set in the new National Education Policy. In such a situation it is necessary to ensure more participation of youth in the field of higher education. In such a situation, along with improving the level of education in the educational institutions, it was felt necessary to take great steps strategically.
A challenge to increase enrollment in higher education institutions
The National Education Policy 2020 aims to achieve 50 percent gross enrollment by 2035, for this it is necessary to make many important decisions. In this regard, it was decided to give admission twice a year in the 580th meeting of UGC on 15 May 2024. Now the admission process will be completed twice a year in July-August and January-February.
CUET UG-PG marks will be used
As per the UGC letter, the released numbers can be used for admission to CUET’s UG and PG courses twice a year. However, these numbers are now known to be used once a year. A decision on making changes to the issue can be made in the coming days.
