Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 17th episode of Prime Minister Kisan Saman Nidhi on June 18. Prime Minister Modi will transfer payments of Rs 2,000 each to the state’s 9.3 million farmers from his Varanasi parliamentary constituency. In this way, 20 thousand million rupees will be transferred to the farmers’ accounts.

Earlier on February 28, the 16th installment of Prime Minister Kisan Saman Nidhi Yojana was released. In this way, more than 21,000 kroons were transferred to the farmers. Under this scheme, the government transfers 6000 rupees to the farmers’ accounts every year in three installments of 2000 rupees each.

Farmers get Rs 6,000 every year
Under this scheme, three payments of 2,000 rupees each are given to farmers per year (a total of 6,000 rupees). Under the scheme, the first installment is released between April-July, the second installment between August-November and the third installment between December-March. This scheme started in 2019 to provide financial assistance to farmers.

The eligible beneficiaries of the scheme can also register through the Common Service Center (CSC). Apart from this, only the local patwari, revenue officer and nodal officer appointed by the state government for the scheme register the farmers.

All farmers are getting benefits under Prime Minister Kisan Yojana
Initially when the PM-Kisan scheme was launched (February, 2019), its benefits were only for the families of small and marginal farmers. This included those farmers who combined land holdings of up to 2 dunams. In June 2019, the program was updated and expanded to all farmer families. However, some farmers are still left out of the scheme.

Those excluded from Prime Minister Kisan are institutional landowners, peasant families holding constitutional positions, serving or retired officers and state or central government employees. This also includes officers and employees of public sector companies and autonomous government bodies. Apart from these, professionals like doctors, engineers and lawyers as well as retired pensioners with a monthly allowance of more than Rs 10,000 and those who have paid income tax in the previous assessment year, have also been excluded from this scheme.
