The victim told the police that her real father had raped her. After this, the police recorded the victim’s statement in court, there she also reported the incident of rape by her father. The police arrested the accused, who was absconding since May 25, and presented him in court on Saturday.
Woman sub-inspector of police Lalita Thakur said that the victim also has 3 younger sisters and 1 younger brother. About two and a half months before the police complaint, his mother and younger brother had gone to their mother’s uncle’s place. Grandpa wasn’t even at home, he had gone to a program somewhere. While making the bed between 9 and 10 pm, his father asked him to come and sleep with him in the room on the top floor. When she refused, the father forcibly took her upstairs and raped and beat her.
According to the FIR, her two younger sisters were also frightened after witnessing this incident. As soon as their mother returned home the next evening, the girls recounted the whole incident. When they were talking to him, the accused threatened his daughters and his wife that if they said anything to anyone, he would kill them.
The 17-year-old victim went to her maternal grandfather’s house and started living there. Meanwhile, the accused again pressured his wife to bring her eldest daughter back from her maternal grandfather’s house. After getting this information, the victim reported the incident to her grandfather and grandmother, and together with them, she reached the police office and lodged a complaint.
