Fire breaks out near Manipur CM’s bungalow; no casualties
Imphal: A major fire broke out in an abandoned building near the Manipur Civil Secretariat complex, the police headquarters and the official bungalow of Chief Minister N. Biran Singh is here on Saturday evening, an official said.
An official said that three fire tenders were activated, following which the fire was extinguished late Saturday evening.
So far no casualties have been reported.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, said a senior police officer.
According to officials, a fire broke out in an abandoned building near the former headquarters of the Kuki Infi, the apex body of the Kuki tribe, which abandoned the building after ethnic violence erupted in the northeastern country in May last year.
