Now regarding this matter, on Saturday, the Minister of State Urban Administration, Aron Saw, said that the government has started preparations. Today the demarcation is done by order of the government.

Aron Sau also said – on behalf of the department, we invited all the district collectors to demarcate the municipal entities. Collectors take action to demarcate all their district bodies. In a certain sense, the preliminary preparations for the elections have begun from the government side, as soon as the bodies are demarcated, we will begin the election process.

The government has started preparations for the municipal elections to be held in Chhattisgarh in November-December. Before the elections demarcation of Municipal Corporations, Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats will be done. In municipal corporations, including Ripor, where the number of departments is 70, there will be a demarcation, but no new departments will be created. This will redefine departmental boundaries of bodies that have fewer departments.
There are 184 bodies in the country. Of these, elections will be held in only 169. The tenure of the remaining 15 bodies will be completed in 2025. The number of wards may increase where new bodies have been created by separating them from corporations, municipalities or nagar panchayats. For example, Banki Mongra was separated from the Corba Municipal Corporation and became a new municipality. Now demarcation of classes can happen in Korba. The departments will be composed so that the population of each department is the same throughout the body.
The work will have to be completed by July 8
Minister Aron Sao said that the demarcation work will be done within the set time frame. The process will end by July 8. After determining the new limits, the initial publication will be made on July 9 and all proposals will be sent to the government on July 18.
