National Child Protection Commission Chairperson Priyanka Kanungo along with her team rescued 59 child workers from Som Factory located in Sehatganj of Raisen district on Saturday afternoon. In which 20 women are also included.

Priyanka Kanungo said that a complaint has been received from Bachpan Bachao Andolan that children are being taken to this factory in school buses. Those children are made to make liquor for 15-16 hours. Today I have inspected this factory. In it they found that more than 50 children were making spirits, which included 20 girls. Steps are being taken to register an FIR for rescuing children.

He said that the children were employed in this work for a long time because the skin on their hands had melted. There is a school bus parked outside where children were brought to this factory. All this was happening in front of his eyes with the collusion of the Customs officer and the corrupt and he was sitting with his eyes closed. We will write a letter to the government to take action against the customs officer.
