The existence of the Andari river, which is considered the lifeline of water and sand in the district, is in danger. Despite the scorching heat, her womb remained full of water. But this year due to lack of water in this river, cracks are visible. Farmers say sand traders have worsened the condition of the Andari river by mining it.

Because of this the river dried up. This river passes through the villages of Shahkund, Jagdishpur and Nathnagar block. Therefore, this time due to lack of water, farmers are in trouble for irrigation. Although the leaders and responsible people of the area have made some efforts to rehabilitate this river, no initiative has been taken by the state and central governments. Pappu, vice-president of Vishnrampur panchayat, said that during floods the stream of this river joins the Junia river. If irrigation schemes are carried out in different places, the irrigation facilities will improve. Here, because no dull country in the region is being reformed, the farmers’ problems have multiplied.

The team came to investigate in 2014-2015, after which it was forgotten. The river has completely dried up for about 15 km from Shahkund’s Andhari river to the last point of Nathnagar. Akshay, a farmer of Saroch village in Daryapur panchayat, said the existence of Andhri, which has been facing the brunt of illegal mining continuously for about ten years, is In danger. Farmers said that due to the initiative of the central government and the local administration team came to review the river in 2014-2015. After investigation it was recommended to build a dam. But the file went into cold storage.

The stream of Andhri River passes around these villages from Andhri River, Dradhi, Kajreli, Basdevpur, Hajipur, Kamalpur, Kalapur, Saitpura, Sokhad, Narayanpur, Patuhi, Driyapur, Gulhu, Maniarpur, Mohanpur, Chandrabhanpur, Sejur , Chavania, Balkhornia. The river of about 15 kilometers, which passes through many villages including Amhuria, Khira, Balsira, Hariharpur, Gudi, Bhatodia, Biharipur, is now on the verge of drying up completely.
