A man and a dog escaped from a burning home in Annapolis Valley, NS, on Friday.
According to Chief Executive of the Canning Volunteer Fire Department, Jeff Skaling, crews responded to a call about a structure fire at approximately 11:41am on Clawdd Canol Road. They saw the fire on the outside of the building and learned that a man and a dog were inside.
The crews managed to get the man and the dog out safely, but the strong wind blew the fire into the attic, seriously damaging it.
Skaling said 40 firefighters worked to put out the fire, and one crew member suffered a minor burn on his hand.
Skaling said the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
