Compared to Tuesday, the maximum temperature on Wednesday increased by half a degree and reached 38 degrees Celsius, 2.4 degrees above normal. Similarly, the minimum temperature increased by 0.3 degrees and was recorded at 27.8 degrees, 1.5 degrees above normal. When day and night temperatures were 2.5 degrees above normal, the east wind speed was only five kilometers per hour. Because of the humidity in the air which was 91 percent in the morning and 65 percent in the afternoon, people continued to sweat even after being in the fan.

The meteorological department has predicted that the scorching heat will continue like this for the next three days until the arrival of the monsoon. Monsoon is expected to reach entire North Bihar including Muzaffarpur district on June 15-16. Until then, warm days and a mild heat wave will continue. However, even after the monsoon reaches the region, there is no possibility of much rain till June 20.
