Alcohol prices to rise under Haryana’s new excise policy – News18 Kannada Achi-News

Chandigarh (June 12): A new liquor policy has come into effect in Haryana from Wednesday. So now there is bad news for the state’s liquor dealers. The price of liquor will increase in the state. Also beer is expensive. The Naib Saini government approved the new customs policy of the state in the cabinet meeting held recently. During the Lok Sabha elections, the government has now implemented a new policy after getting the approval of the Election Commission.

In Haryana, the price of country liquor will reportedly increase by Rs.5, while the price of beer will increase by Rs.20. The price of bottles of English drinks will also increase by 5 per cent. Let us tell you that the Haryana government has also brought imported liquor under the purview of the policy. As per the new policy, only 20 percent profit can be made on a fixed wholesale price. That means bottles can be sold on a spirits deal with a 20 per cent profit on the wholesale price.

On the other hand, if a hotel has a bar licence, the operator can buy liquor from three shops around their hotel. However, the condition is that each of the three alcohol shops should have separate license holders. In Haryana’s new customs policy, there is an increase of 7 percent over the reserve price.
