According to the forecasts of the meteorological department, the monsoon may reach Surguja by June 15. There is a possibility of delay due to cessation of monsoon near Soka. However, clouds have started appearing in Surguja division since Wednesday. Pre-monsoon rains are expected to provide some relief from the scorching heat. However, the maximum temperature is not expected to drop much before the monsoon.
