BJP made an unprecedented performance in the Odisha Assembly Elections 2024. BJP managed to oust Navin Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal government which was in power for 26 years. Preparations are now being made to form a BJP government. The swearing-in ceremony of the Cabinet including the Chief Minister is expected to take place on June 10, which may also be attended by the top BJP leadership including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Preparations are underway for the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister of the BJP government that is being formed for the first time in Odisha. Janta Meaden is fine for the swearing-in ceremony. 30,000 people including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah will attend the ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony will take place on June 10. The BJP high command has sent a panel of three leaders to Odisha to form a government. These include Madhya Pradesh Minister Vishwas Sarang, Bhopal MP Alok Sharma and BJP leader Lokendra Parashar. Director General of Police Arun Kumar Sarangi said that many Chief Ministers including the Prime Minister and other VIP leaders are coming for the inauguration. We are making other arrangements including security. The Special Protection Group (SPG) has already arrived. We are deploying adequate security forces for security.

Meanwhile, Odisha BJP chief Manmohan Samal gave a statement regarding the selection of the chief minister after returning from New Delhi on Saturday. He said to wait two more days. Narendra Modi will be sworn in as the Prime Minister for the third time on Sunday, after which the BJP parliamentary party may choose the Chief Minister of Odisha in its meeting.

Samal said – I am not in the race for the position of Chief Minister

Samal said at the airport, I went to Delhi to attend a meeting to elect the NDA Parliamentary Party leader and Lok Sabha leader. All the newly elected members of parliament of the country were present there. We also participated in other party programs organized in Delhi. He said that as Odisha BJP president, he is coordinating with all the stakeholders in organizing the swearing-in ceremony.

Journalists asked Samal if he was in the race for the position of Prime Minister, and he told me no. Every responsibility assigned to me, I follow it.

Discussion of these three names in the race for the post of Chief Minister

Let us tell you that among the strongest contenders in the Odisha Chief Minister race, the names of Sambalpur MP and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and former BJP state president and newly elected MLA from Patnagar KV Singh Deo are in discussion. BJP got 20 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats
