BJP made an unprecedented performance in the Odisha Assembly Elections 2024. BJP managed to oust Navin Patnaik’s Biju Janata Dal government which was in power for 26 years. Preparations are now being made to form a BJP government. The swearing-in ceremony of the Cabinet including the Chief Minister is expected to take place on June 10, which may also be attended by the top BJP leadership including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Preparations are underway for the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister of the BJP government that is being formed for the first time in Odisha. Janta Meaden is fine for the swearing-in ceremony. 30,000 people including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah will attend the ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony will take place on June 10. The BJP high command has sent a panel of three leaders to Odisha to form a government. These include Madhya Pradesh Minister Vishwas Sarang, Bhopal MP Alok Sharma and BJP leader Lokendra Parashar. Who will be the CM can also be decided soon. Director General of Police Arun Kumar Sarangi said that many Chief Ministers including the Prime Minister and other VIP leaders are coming for the inauguration. We are making other arrangements including security. The Special Protection Group (SPG) has already arrived. We are deploying adequate security forces for security.
Meanwhile, Odisha BJP chief Manmohan Samal gave a statement regarding the selection of the chief minister after returning from New Delhi on Saturday. He said to wait two more days. Narendra Modi will be sworn in as the Prime Minister for the third time on Sunday, after which the BJP parliamentary party may choose the Chief Minister of Odisha in its meeting.
